Cryptids: Those mysterious creatures that many have claimed to see but have not yet been proven to exist. Secretly… we really hope they do!
The faces behind this collection bring unique personalities and skill sets onto the NFT scene. Friends since their freshman year of high school, Kat and Keisha are a power team of creativity and humor, and now you are invited to embrace all the fun to be had by engaging with the bizarre world of these Encryptid creatures!
Kat has always had an odd affinity for cryptids of all forms. So, years ago, she illustrated a series of mythological creatures in her paper goods product line that have delighted the imaginations of young and old alike. Bigfoot has long been her favorite (with the Loch Ness Monster coming in as a close second), so naturally, he was the initial creature birthed in the Encryptids NFT collection.
Taken by the whimsy and creativity of Kat’s artwork, Keisha came onto the scene with the catchy name of Encryptids for the collection, as well as names for each of the characters. As a kid, she was charmed by the poetry of Shel Silverstein. Eventually, she began writing her own rhythmic rhymes and sing-song verses that flow to her with ease and innovative quirk. Now, Keisha has had the pleasure of building on Kat’s bright and compelling Encryptids artwork through her lighthearted, yet touching, storytelling.
He was once like the others- with a full shaggy mane
Until something happened- that caused his soul pain.
He had a great scare walking on a dirt path
Varmint quite threatening that met him with wrath...
He’s said to reside in just one ????,
but on good authority, those stories are fake.
There’s more to the tale than that one place
I’ll tell you about it - and right to your face...
Just south of the shore on a wobbly jet ski
I turned ‘round the corner and what did I see?
A thing on the rock just outside of a cave
I wanted to scream but instead I was brave...
Once the first 6k Encryptids are minted, owners will be able to vote on what the final Encryptid character should be via an on-chain snapshot vote and Kat will design it and Keisha write the story with their input.
