The Story of Furry Murray the Sasquatch

He was once like the others- with a full shaggy mane
Until something happened- that caused his soul pain.
He had a great scare walking on a dirt path
Varmint quite threatening that met him with wrath

They were growling and hissing and looking severe
Making obvious to him he’d best not come near
But the damage was done for his once flowing tangles
Fell off due to terror-left him looking mangled

The once hairy brute was now a bald creature
Bald-headed, bald-handed, really-every last feature
Now rejected by family, excluded by friends
Since then he’s been roaming from day’s start to end

He still thinks he’s bald-just a bare bag of bones
So he stays near the trees where he’ll be left alone
His tresses grew back, He just doesn’t realize
He dwells fully cloth-ed, always in a dis-guise.

To hide his identity from those whom he knows
Quite why no one fathoms when he comes or goes
He’s stealthy and sneaky and still a tad sore
About how his loved ones have mocked him before

Deep in the forest at the earliest light
Ear to the ground-if you’re lucky you might
Hear the tromping-traversing of this creature unknown
Keep that camera app ready and a fully charged phone!

For if you should gaze upon such a rare sight
The instinct will surely be one- fight or flight!
But at least ‘fore you run, or start throwing punches
